Your Digifant Electronic Control Unit (ECU) absolutely needs to see a good signal from your distributor’s hall sensor, or your waterboxer will simply not run. When you looked at your hall sensor assembly recently (and you likely have, because that connector often cracks where it meets the distributor) you may have noticed crusty terminals, fragile wires, and a disintegrating boot on the connector. Not very reassuring.
We’re glad to offer you some peace of mind with this high quality replacement pigtail for the hall sender, which only takes minutes to install with a good crimp tool. This assembly includes a new connector with new wire and connector seals, a lock that hasn’t been bent out of shape by impatient mechanics of yore, a fresh boot to prevent strain on the wires, and heat shrinkable splice connectors for a solid connection to your harness.
Fits:All 1986-91 Vanagon Waterboxer with Digifant Fuel Injection
Important Installation Note: The wire colors on factory pigtail changed at least 4 times within the 5 model years! The wire colors onour VS-HALL-PIGTAILmay not match your original harness exactly, and may even be reversed. When crimping the new wires to your existing harness, make sure to use the wire positions on the connector as reference for which wire goes where, because the wire colors may lead you astray.
